Cedar Point

We finally made it out to Cedar Point! Haven't been there in years. Went on Thursday the 29th. Picked a good day since the lines were so short.

The longest we waited was almost an hour for the Raptor but most rides had less than a 15 minute wait.

This pic was taken in line for Wicked Twister (pictured above in yellow) , which is now one of my favorite rides, straight up and down backwards and forwards!

"Wicked Twister is the tallest and fastest "double-twisting" impulse roller coaster ever created. This steel giant is comprised of a U-shaped track with the ends reaching 215 feet into the air and is powered by a linear induction motor. Riders sit two abreast in specially designed seats suspended from the track above. Then, without warning, Wicked Twister launches riders forward out of the station and up a 90-degree, twisting steel track. Once the train slows to a stop, it streaks back down the structure and into the station before being launched backward up another twisting track. The train races up and down the track a total of five times at an amazing top speed of 72 mph! But that is not all. Each tower twists 450 degrees, providing one of the most unique ride experiences ever. "

The other one that I liked enough to ride multiple times was MaxAir. (pictured above in red and blue) "Riders on this ultimate thrill ride sit in outward-facing suspended seats that form a giant circle of 50 passengers; their legs dangle freely. maXair swings riders back and forth in a seemingly out-of-control pendulum motion while rotating counterclockwise. At the peak of the pendulum movement that reaches a maximum speed of 70 mph, riders are upside down 140 feet above the ground and experience airtime, that coveted feeling of weightlessness that is popular for thrill-seekers on roller coasters. The dynamic return drop generates a variety of sensations on riders depending on their specific position in the counterclockwise rotation, creating a different ride experience each time."

The Raptor is still my favorite but these two are very close! We'll be going back soon if we can find the time!

The new one this year is SkyHawk. This is the first ride that has scared me in a while! Even the second time when I knew what to expect! "Skyhawk features two giant swinging arms, each 84 feet in length, with 20 seats on each arm. Each set of 20 seats consists of two rows of 10 seats, positioned back to back, that provide each rider with a “front row” view. Using pneumatic technology similar to that used on Power Tower, riders are thrilled as they are pushed toward the sky, then experience weightlessness as they reverse direction and rush back toward the ground – just like the drop side of a roller coaster – with no ride structure in their path. At the peak of the arc, riders on Skyhawk are more than 125 feet in the air and reach speeds of 60 mph in both directions! The $6 million ride gives nearly 800 rides an hour.
“Skyhawk is the world’s largest swing ride. It’s a simple concept, but it is an amazing ride experience,” Hildebrandt said. “All of us have ridden swings as kids. Imagine riding a swing that is higher than a 12-story building and goes faster than many roller coasters.”

I actually went and saw 2 shows. I don't think I've seen two shows at Cedar Point, ever, in over 20 trips there. I'm always trying to get on as many rides as possible and never tok the time to see the shows. That's what Tom wanted to do so we saw 2 of them and they weren't too bad. I can't wait to go back!!

Blonde

A couple I hadn't heard yet:

A young man was performing a ventriloquist show in a small town in Arizona.With his dummy on his knee, he starts going through his usual dumb blonde jokes when a blonde woman in the front row stands on her chair and starts shouting:
"I've heard enough of your stupid blonde jokes. What makes you think you can stereotype women that way?What does the color of a person's hair have to do with their intelligence and worth as a human being? Its guys like you who keep women like me from being respected at work and in the community and from reaching our full potential as a person- - you and your kind continue to perpetuate discrimination against not only blondes, but women in general.
"The embarrassed ventriloquist begins to apologize,and the blonde yells,
"You stay out of this mister! I'm talking to that little shit on your knee."

A Blonde is overweight, so her doctor puts her on a diet. He tells her, "I want you to eat regularly for two days, then skip a day,and repeat the procedure for two weeks. The next time I see you, you'll have lost at least five pounds."When the Blonde returns, she's lost nearly 20 pounds."Why, that's amazing!" the doctor says. "Did you follow my instructions?"The Blonde nods and answers, "I'll tell you, though, I thought I was going to drop dead that third day."
"From hunger, you mean?" asks the doctor.
"No", replied the Blonde, "From skipping".
